It is difficult in a few short paragraphs to describe this Art adequately without it appearing to be ‘all things to all people’.

 

 

Aikido differs from other martial arts in that it is purely defensive in nature. These defences being applied in such a way that as to neutralise attackers without causing them harm.

 

 

There are many different styles and approaches to this end. It is a living, developing, art which will be continually modified in the light of experience and practice. It is said that we each develop our own Aikido.
